I'm just getting into Adobe Flex and Adobe Air as a way to present rich content in and outside of Force.com sites.  Creating a composite Force.com / MySQL data warehouse is on my development horizon, among other things.  Force.com provides the free Flex/Air toolkit and of course Flex is open source.  I'm trying this out using the Adobe Flex Builder 3 environment but this is a trial only and will expire.  If anyone has experience with Flex and perhaps an alternate open-source dev environment with comparable features I'd love to know about it.  When it expires I'll probably just use the Eclipse plug-in since that's what their Builder is built on anyway.

Generally speaking though, any tips or pointers for a successful learning curve would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance all!

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.
