oh and then if you need more 1tb drives, this combo gets you a free external hotdock for sata drives.

I wish I had something like this in the IDE days to figure out which drives lying around had what on them and worked. lol
getting to that point with sata now.

That's pretty sweet looking ... man is storage cheap now. Really makes you rethink things...  Idea...

Since you are drooling after every HD deal you see, why not build Backblaze pod? Then you can buy all the HDs you can afford and you don't have to deal with those god awful external combo dealing shit boxes that look ugly and take unnecessary space.

Yeah and after I posted that I actually went reading about people's experiences with that Backblaze thing. Many people said that it sucks unless you get at least 3 of them, preferably 5. So maybe not so good for home usage after all. And the worst part is that those SATA backplane cards they use are custom ordered from manufacturer and they haven't been responding to people so well about them.

true true, i have read that as well.

I would love though to have a big box of drives. 1 home and 1 in rack. need more space, just plug in another drive no matter what size it is. That would be great, but alas, overkill right now.
