So for argument sake.
I have 2 shitkicker servers. plus 1 weaker box.

1 shitkicker currently is the DB server
1 is the web server
and the weak box is backup server and archive.

I changed recently to
1 shitkicker is DB and web, but only the 1 intensive app on it, so it is now dedicated to 1 app.
1 shitkicker is the rest of the webs, plus their associated DBs
and the backup is still same.

The shitkicker with the rest of the webs is well, not being utilized much. my average load is.... .001 LOL

But my intensive app could use more power.
So, I am wondering if I instead did this scenario.
2 shitkickers, either master-master or clustered.
the backup machine becomes the live web.

I am not really sure though if either way will help with distributing the load of the database better. Specifically the 1 big app. I know that it should, but not sure if its worth it. Cluster vs MasterMaster is actually a major question.

I could eat a bowl of Alphabet Soup and shit a better argument than that.
