I don't use it and don't know how, so I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do for me.

My kids, OTOH, are just ITCHING for this and can't wait. My guess is that so many kids like mine are gonna hit the network tomorrow that AT&T will suck even worse than normal.

When you need to know about Viagra and altruistic bank deals from Nairobi. MMS is for when you want to know about Viagra and bank deals from people that you know. Or at least, their phone things you do.

Yet again Apple triumphs in creating hype over feature that's ages old and doesn't bring anything new. I love Apple Smiley

They tried to push MMS to the mainstream here in Finland like 7 years ago but it never really ignited. People are still very vary to send them because not all phones can display them and even if your phone can, you have to have the right settings in there and so on. I wonder if even iPhone can change that mentality.

Agree, this is sort of a teenybopper update if you ask me. Why MMS and not email a picture? I get (looking at threads) that there are a lot of people thrilled about it, but I could give a damn.

Bear in mind, however, that this is not an Apple update - it's an AT&T update.

Personally, I'd like to see iChat (or the like) rewritten by Apple so that I can IM that way rather than the cell network. I know there are others that have done it, but since it's their phone and, like the iPod app on the phone, they'll grant themselves special dispensation to run more heavily in the background, I think it'd be a home run if they did it. Musings: I wonder if there isn't one so it will push people towards a texting contract ... and that was a concession to AT&T, hmmm?
