We've got some long-term Ipad users here, so I thought I'd ask. Can you reasonably view (just view, no data entry) a spreadsheet that's 50 (6 digit numeric) cells wide x 40 rows long?  I find these problematic while working on 12" laptops so I figure it's even more of a problem on the Ipad unless some of the zoom functionality really eases navigating around the fields.

It really depends on your idea of reasonable. You will be scrolling. the inertial scroll effect will help, and pinch to zoom probably would as well. Interestingly I think that swiping across a large spreadsheet would be superior to mouse-based vertical  and horizontally constrained scrolling.

There are several viewers, you'd want to try a couple to see which you liked best. I have a couple if you'd like to PM me a demo for a try.

Numbers, the iWork app is actually pretty cool. Its a significant spreadsheet app but can do a lot of vaguely prgrammish things as well. It's worth looking into.
