Quite simple. Citrix Receiver for the Apple TV. Instant 1080P thin client.
Throw M$ Remote Desktop Client on it as well and you've got almost no need for a local machine. It's already wireless, USB ports, excellent video and sound...

Not a bad idea.but probably impossible because of updating. And of course, totally unsupported.

Oh yeah, it'd be a jailbroken idea. Then there's also the problem of a pointer, which would need to be authored and layered between the ATV and the receiver ... Definitely an effort. But it'd be pretty cool.

Not exactly $99 but you could get pretty far with OMAP boards like http://pandaboard.org/. Of course OMAPs are starting to pack so much power that they could be much more than just thin clients Smiley
