yep.

I would guess that the little "camera hole" is actually the light sensor, or just the frame underneath where the camera "should" go. Its not like they wouldnt have bragged about it if they were going to have it.

Woot, im a freakin fortune teller! lol

One problem with video conferencing is that camera has to be quite where you are looking at the video. It has always been a problem that people dislike video chatting because the lack of eye contact and self-awareness when on camera. I think self-awareness starts to fade away because you already have webcams in every laptop and people are getting used to them. But the eye contact problem is still there and my gut feeling is that video calls ain't gonna take off properly until you can really get eye contact. Maybe it means webcams behind displays, I don't know.

of course, and I agree completely.

But... I think that as a "good enough" setup, that could be pretty idiot proofed for Grandma, this is a contender.

The major problem with a desktop is you have to sit there, and so does the other person, so that was a BIG FAIL in my house.

Read an interesting post speculating that Apple didn't want people to look bad ... it spoils the experience.

They took the idea of where the camera would be, and the angle that you'd probably be holding the device and then came to the conclusion that we'd all have multiple chins and long fat faces.

It's an interesting thought, but I doubt it's reality.

Much more interesting is the patent Apple holds on interspersing camera elements with pixel elements - essentially making the display the camera as well. That'd be shithot and cover your problem Kurdt.
