http://gigaom.com/apple/lion-download-too-fat-theres-apple-store-wifi-for-that/OK call me an old world conservative. I just don't think that there's enough ubiquity of truly high bandwidth access to make it OK that Ma and Pa Fricket in east Kentucky will be able to download a 4G operating system and have a reasonable experience. It's going to take me 3.5 hours at best I figure!
But worse: According to some recent threads, people have emailed Steveo about how to reinstall Lion if they have a complete disk failure. Note that Lion will install recovery into a small partition on the disk so re-factorying is covered, but what if you need to completely go from the ground up? Steveo's answer: Install Snow Leopard first (because Snow Leopard still ships with media).
Are you kidding me? I have to install an older system so that I can wait to download a newer system if I rebuild? That seems stupidly arrogant and blind, even by Applian standards.
