I'm fascinated by this, it implies getting the visitors browser to do some form of work for you -- I've been wanting to do this for ages but have yet to figure out. I'm guessing Perk's version of xmlhttprequest (or whatever its called) has suitable capabilities, but its a little beyond me at this stage.

it would great if we could have a discusion on the technical possibilities rather than specific implementations.

i became fascinated with the idea of controlling user browser action when I asked my self a simple question "how can I control the users back button" ? Do a search on various related topics associated with that, and you get all sorts of opinions on ethics, etc. Thats why I love this board and the others in the family. Discuss tactics and techniques, let others discuss the "meaning". I to would enjoy a general discussion this - ideas behind how and why the browser does what it does, different ways to access and tap it, and make it, well "perform"
